In order to be a successful general manager in Smash Mouth Dynasty, you are going to have to trade. Trading can be done on the RTSports site under "Team" then "Trades". As GM, it is up to you to assess fair value of players, draft picks, and warbucks. You can trade for any of these three individually or combine them to sweeten the deal. If you want to have warbucks be a part of the trade process, you will need to do this by adding how many you want to trade in the Comments when you ask for a trade or to accept one.
It is up to each GM to decide what fair value there is for a trade, however, the Commissioner will review the trade to uphold league integrity and for cap considerations.
If the Commissioner decides that the trade involved does seem unfair, even though it is accepted by both GMs, he has the right to investigate the trade in depth, and if still not comfortable, can put the trade to a league vote at his discretion. On the other hand, if a trade is vetoed, then the GMs involved in the trade also has the right of a due process and an explanation from the Commissioner of his decision. The Commissioner will have the final say in all trade matters, but must provide an explanation of his decision.
Declining a trade is acceptable under these conditions:
1. Trading of draft picks, but with not equal value. For example, a third round pick is not as valuable as a second round or first round pick.
2. Trading of two players with equal stats but with extreme contract difference. However, this trade will not necessarily be vetoed, however it could be scrutinized by the Commissioner and discussed between the two owners.
3. Trading, then re-trading back to both original owners. There will be a 2 week rule for this, so please don't try it within the 2 weeks.
4. Fraud or Collusion
If any GM disapproves of a trade approved by the Commissioner, that GM can state his case in private to the Commissioner. If still not satisfied, then that GM can reveal his thoughts to the entire league. Trading will be a necessary component for every franchise. It is up to each GM to decide what is best for his franchise. Please keep in mind value of draft picks, and contract years. Also, your cap space will be an important consideration also.
All trades will be conducted by each GM and accepted or declined by the GM. Commissioner approval is not necessary for trading. However, the Commissioner does have the authority to reverse the trade under the guidelines listed above. The focal point whether a trade is reversed will be strictly based upon an obvious disparity between two players and collusion. It is not the responsibility of the commissioner to deem whether a trade is "fair" between two owners. That will be up to the two GMs involved in the trade to decide fair value between two players, draft picks, warbucks, etc.
