Each owner will have a roster that must be within a 75 year cap. Owners will sign each player to a contract against this cap. Owners will decide whether to use all 75 years allotted to them, or to maintain flexibility under the cap. For instance, you can have 14 players with 5 year contracts that add up to sixty years. Or an owner could have a 12 player roster with 2 year contracts per player that will give them 24 years, giving that team 36 years under the cap. Each owner will decide what best suits their franchise. A cap penalty will occur if a player is waived. Cap relief can also be achieved if a player is traded, as his years will be added to his new team.
