Methods Of Signing Player Contracts:
There are THREE ways you will be able to sign players to any length contract.
1. ROOKIE/FREE AGENT DRAFT
This season (2014) we will be conducting our entry draft. After we complete this draft, all owners will be able to sign their drafted roster to contracts of any length under or at the 75 year cap. Starting in the 2015 season, we will be conducting a Rookie/Free Agent draft before the start of the regular season. After the draft is completed, each owner will have the opportunity to offer their drafted player a contract, or to waive any player that is not deemed worthy of a contract. There will be a signing deadline determined by the Commissioner after the draft is completed for each team to get their players signed or waived. Waiving a draft pick is free from any warbuck penalty as long as they are not signed by the GM in their War Room. Please designate a drafted player as "Waived" during contract signings.
2. FREE AGENT AUCTION
The GM who successfully bids the most money for the nominated player will win the rights to that player. The GM can then sign the player to any length contract under or at the 75 year cap. Any player won at auction must be signed to at least a one year contract. You can't waive a player won at auction. You can release a player after signing them at the cost of 5 warbucks per season.
3. FREE AGENT THAT DOES NOT RECEIVE BID DURING FAA
If there is a player that was franchised tagged and was not introduced to be bid on, then the current owner of the tagged player can re-sign their player to any length contract under their cap. If a team has a player on his roster with an expired contract and was not introduced to be bid on during the Auction, then the owner of that player can re-sign that player to any length contract. It will be the GM's responsibility to re-sign a player that was on their roster but not bid to a contract if they choose to do so.
Contracts will be signed in each franchise's designated War Room. The Commissioner will assign a deadline for contract signings. If that deadline is not met by any Franchise GM, then all players drafted or auctioned on will receive 1 year contracts.
IMPORTANT!
You must sign your contracts in your War Room. Emailing the commissioner your contracts will not be accepeted!
Terminating A Player Contract:
You can only terminate the entire contract for each player or defense/st. In the off-season, it will cost 5 warbucks per year. During the regular season, it will cost 10 warbucks per year. There are no partial buyouts, it must be for the entire contract.
There will be an opportunity to release players for free if they have on year remaining. This will be "Dead Weight Drop" week as determined by your Commissioner.
PLAYER RETIREMENT
If a player retires and is reported by RTSports as such, then the GM of that player can terminate his contract without any warbuck penalty if done in a timely manner after the retirement announcement within two weeks.
